Top Wordpress Plugins !

There are lots and lots of blogs coming up these days. But all of them look same unless they change themes and add some extra features via Wordpress Plugins. Also there are 1000s of plugins and themes to choose from..
So I would like to post some of my favourite and recommended Top Wordpress plugins which makes blogging a fun experience.
- Sidebar Widgets : This plugin helps you to easily shuffle your sidebar contents. You can drag and drop sidebar items like blogroll, categories menu etc according to your preference from the admin panel. No more hassle to change php codes of sidebar.
- Akismet Spam Comments Plugin - A regular blogger would be knowing how many spam comments they receive each day.. I receive around 100 such comments and without Akismet it would not be possible to filter spam comments from real comments. The best inbuilt wordpress plugin. Requires Wordpress API key to make it functional.
- Wordpress database backup : If you are willing to run your blog for a long time or lifetime – then this plugin is a must. The plugin backups your wordpress database with just one click. Also can send the backup to your mail too. It can even do automatic backups according to your time settings.
- AdSense Deluxe – Blog is a good way of making money online. And google adsense or other such PPC ads are favourite among publishers. In a wordpress script you cannot add html/php code directly to show those ads. Adsense Deluxe plugin allows the blogger to easily add Adsense, Chitika, YPN ads inside the blogposts. Lots of customization option from an easy to use admin menu.
- Google Sitemap Creator : Creates a Google sitemap automatically for better indexing of your blog. Also updates the sitemap automatically.
- WP Shortstat or GoStats – Want to know from where the visitors to your blog came? WP-shortstat is a traffic tracker for your blog. You can see the traffic stats in your WP dashboard.
- Related BlogPosts : This plugin shows “related posts†in your sidebar when viewing a post (permalink) depending on the post title and description. Evil method to keep the reader busy.
- Ultimate Tag Warrior : Those who knows SEO know the importance of Meta Tags for better search engine results. This is the best wordpress plugin to optimize your blog for search engines. Allows you to add meta tags from an ajax box and lots more features. I think there is some issue with latest wordpress v2.3 script.
- Head META Description – Adds automatically a Meta Description tag to your post depending on the content. Improves search engine ranking and traffic.
- All in One SEO Pack – A all in one SEO plugin to fully optimize your blog for search engines – includes Meta Tags for Description, Title, Categories and more.
- Feedburner Feed Plugin Shows the current number of subscribers, readers and more. Shows how popular your blog is. Shows Feedburner authority ranking too.
- Exec-php – Wordpress script is written in its own PHP language and don’t allow the usual PHP code insertion in the posts. ( so its not possible to add PHP Advertisement scripts inside the post or sidebar). This plugin helps to do this easily.
- Subscribe to comments : Sends email notifications if the comments are updated. The reader can tick the “check box†to subscribe to the comments for email notifications if somebody has replied to his/her comments or a new comment has posted.
- Sociable : Automatically adds linked icons of various social bookmarking sites like del.ici.ous, Digg, Reddit, Furl etc after every blogpost. So the reader can share the post with their friends. Share This Also works good.
- Adhesive : OR Sticky Post plugin. Similarly to Sticky threads on forum, this plugin allows you to make a post “sticky†so that it remains at the top of your homepage. Such posts receive best traffic (and you can monetize such posts too :-))
- Popularity Contest : Shows a Popularity percentage score after each post. The percentage is calculated according to a complex algorithm which includes trackbacks, pings, views, traffic and more. Plugin from the wordpress leader Alex King.
- Image Manager - Posts look dull without images. This plugin helps you to upload, sort and post images easily. No need to login your cpanel to upload images again.
- flickrRSS - Fancy your wordpress blog with images.. This plugin shows random flickr photos on your website from flickr RSS feed.
- Gravatars – Adds avatar or image of the commenter in their comments. Requires Gravatar registration.
- Vidavee – Manage Videos on your blog easily. A video manager for wordpress.
- WP-PageNavi : Adds nice navigation facility for your wordpress blog. Instead of showing “Previous†and “Next†at the bottom of the page, this plugin shows pages in an easy-to-browse navigation system like Pages (54): <> … Last >>
- WP-Cache – Wordpress Page cahing system – Caches the wordpress pages to make the blog much faster to load.
Hope this plugins will help you and your visitors to enjoy your blog. I think wordpress guys should add this plugins in their script by default.

This is a resourceful list…although I used most of it but I have missed a plugin or two…thanks for the plugin compilation..
