Directory links and Traffic !
By MeetHere | September 4, 2007
Search engine traffic is a major source of traffic for any site. Google adwords, CPM, banner and text ad campaigns are other ways of generating traffic. Another source of traffic with permanent one-way backlinks is directories. I know you will ask “How can directories bring traffic?”. I have the answer :
You can link to your website using relevant anchor text (called “Title”) while submitting to a Web Directory. (Some sites may not allow this unless you submit Featured links). This way you are doing off-page search engine optimization and this will help you in ranking better on search engines ( called better SERPs - Search Engine Ranking Positions). And indirectly you will receive traffic from search engine querries relevant to your targetted anchor or phrase.
Also it’s always better to get backlinks from relevant niche sites. So if you have a blog, you should submit your site to a blog directory for maximum SEO benefit. So start your traffic generating campaign by submitting to as many quality directories as possible. Use different description and title texts for each directory listings. ![]()
